This is a scrap that I made just now during our visit at Putrajaya to watch hot air balloons.
And here, I made sardine rolls last night for dinner snacks. I was so craze of these rolls during my childhood in KB where they served them as breakfast. And here is the recipe:
Sardine Roll
Pastry:
All purpose flour - 3 small cups
Butter/ margarine - 3 spoonfull
Water
Method: Rub flour and butter till you feel like damp sand at your hand. Pour water little by little to you able to knead the dough smoothly.
Filling (sardine):
1 medium tin of sardine (mashed)
Fresh chillies (big or small) - optional, if you want mor fire to it
Blended dried chillies - up to your taste
Red onion slice
Salt and sugar
Squeeze of lime
Method:
Saute onion till brown, add fresh and blended chillies. Then, add mashed sardine. Sprinkle some salt and sugar. And lastly, squeeze lime to cut the flavour.
p/s: I replace sardine with fried fish since only me and enna at home. Not worthwhile to open the huge can of sardine tho...
To roll up:
Take a small amount of dough, make a round shape and flat it. Spread the filling in, roll it up and make sure no filling squeeze outside the dough.
Fry in deep hot oil till brown and crisp. Nice to be eaten with chillie sauce. Enjoy!!!
