MidValley, Chillis,Twilight Saga & Huda Makeover...

I captured few pics on CNY decoration at MidValley. I loved to watch hundreds of pink and red dragonflies "flying" around the centre court. Few gigantic red flowers add more dramatic look to the scenery. These pics were taken one day before CNY.

Last Friday, I went again to MidValley with my family for some lunch at Chillis except Huda yang nak teruskan tidurnya untuk kerja malam nanti. Before heading to Chillis, sempat lagi singgah sekejap kat KKD to buy my vanilla cake doughnut...yumyum!

Mama ordered only tortilla chips for lunch as it was bottomless. Our drinks have been refilled almost ten times supaya betul-betul puas hati "bottomless"! Pelik-pelik diaorang nih!

Kamal and me. I only shared my meal with Enna, the lamb shoulder steak. Had experienced before, kalau order sorang satu memang tak habis sebab last sekali mesti tak dapat habiskan our favourite dessert.

After lunch, we ahead to MPH as I had no intention for window shopping on either bags, clothes or shoes. Me with MPH? Macam langit dengan bumi. I could count my fingers on my entrance to that "booky" place for a year. As usual, the cooking section was my favourite. Then, I joined Abah for a while discussing on few motivational books how to be billionare, how to start business, all those kind of stuffs. Abah showed me one book by this famous Singaporean entrepreneur, Adam Khoo how he became millionaire in the age of 26. He encouraged me to read the book as well. Okay, akan diusahakan. ;)
Next, joined mama on home decor section, trying to get few inspirations for our houses decor. Okay, akan diusahakan jugak! Enna pulak hilang entah ke mana, dan rupa-rupanya tengah baca buku Islamiah pulak dah. Hmm...macam-macam.

Suddenly, I asked Enna...mana buku Twilight? As these few days HBO was showing Twilight sampai addicted dibuatnya tengok berulang-ulang kali. And, semakin bertambahlah sukanya tengok sweet Bella Swan and handsome vampire, Edward Cullen. Dan paling haru biru, sampai sanggup spend beli all four series of Twilight Saga...huhuhu!

Orang kata baca buku feel dia lain, dari tengok movie. I didn' watch the second movie, New Moon, entahlah apa sebabnya...kenapa entah tak pergi tengok. Maybe I'll just buy the DVD then.

I heard from some Hollywood celebrity news saying that they were now coupling. I knew Kirsten Stewart from the movie Panic Room when she was still a small girl. Of course you will start to identify them later on other movies as they become famous. But they do have a good chemistry together and I love to see Bella shyness towards Edward. Talking about Edward (Robert Pattinson), the way he starred Bella...oh my god...stunning!

And, just now...I was helping Huda to get ready for her HSBC annual dinner. She requested me to makeup her. So, I tried my best to make her look great. And this was the result...

Tiring Days and Latest Addiction...

We (family and I) spent last few days at KB to see our house there. Most of the time I spent my days at my home, tidur je memanjang. Entahlah macam kena drug je bila sampai sana, tidur tak cukup-cukup. Mungkin dah lama tak jalan jauh. But, I still manage to go for a night drive around KB town, went to new KB Trade Centre and makan-makan.

Bab makan, tiap-tiap hari makan nasi jer kerjanya. Mananya tidak, pagi nasi kerabula, daganglah, berlauklah, Pastu tengahari makan nasi lagi, beli nasi kukus lah. Mana tak ngantuk je kerjanya.

But, the worst part when we were on the way back to KL, suddenly ada jam around Raub...haihh..ni yang paling aku tak suka...almost one hour trap in the jam (around 5 p.m) and Huda pulak rushing nak kerja malam tu (Wednesday). Ingatkan semua orang dah balik from holiday, hmmm....penatnya.

Not sure what is my plan for today. But right now, I am truly addict to Krispy Kreme Doughnut (KKD). We went to MidValley for a walk on last Saturday (one day before CNY). Macam biasa, my favourite floor is the ground one. And, we entered KKD for few doughnuts there. My current flavour is the glaze one. Kalau pergi JCo ke Big Apple ke, memang cari glaze dulu. Then, Enna introduced glazed vanilla cake and glaze chocolate cake doughnut. My first impression would be, eee..sedap ke...macam pernah makan yang Dunkin Doughnut punya...tak best langsung. By looking at the crackly shape of the doughut, huhhh...confirm tak besh nih. But, Enna asked me to try first. Waaa....! Sedaplah pulak! It is more towards "cakey" texture and very moist.

Then tiba-tiba teringat pernah tengok doughnut nih through AFC Channel under Chef at Home programme. The different between normal doughnut which I'm pretty sure there is no yeast added to the dough. Chef Smith (Chef at Home), showed how to make cinnamon sugar doughnut and I was a bit weird and curious, kenapa dia tak letak yeast. Senang pulak tu dia buat doughnut mixture. When he fried the dough, memang crackly look from the outside.

Hmmm...bestnya. Memandangkan tak guna yeast (sebab malas nak tunggu dough naik), tengah cari resepi untuk cake doughnut nih. Nak try buat sendiri. Aku nih, dah banyak resepi rasanya pending tak buat-buat. Tak pe, cari resepi dulu for inspiration. Itu penting...inspiration...hihihi. So, back to the story, memang nak makan that sugary dough tu lagi. Manis memang tak payah cakap. Teramat manis, especially the icing glaze topping. And, you are truly eating a "good" doughnut compared to other outlet coz doughnut dia "tebal" dan memang puas makan. Yum yum...maaflah takde gambar time makan sebab sekelip mata dah masuk dalam perut...blurrpp...alhamdulillah...hahaha!

14 th February 2010...everyone know what is the special event on today but Malaysia celebrate another big special event...Chinese New Year Celebration! Though it is celebrate by the Chinese, but we Malaysian celebrate mostly everything together and what most important is CUTI!!! Ahhh, we can have rest for few days from our job and maybe plan for a good trip during this holiday season!

I'm in Puchong right now, as last minute cancellation where initially we should went back to Austin. We plan for a trip to Penang and KB, hmmm we'll see how's the plan going on so far as my parents are on the way from Austin to here and yet take 2 or 3 hours to reach. And, since I'm more towards loving and romantic mood currently, so I pampered my ears with my two favourite love songs forever; When I Fall In Love by Nat King Cole and All The Way by Frank Sinatra. I still much prefer on the Celine Dion version where she sang duet with this two adorable legends. May click the title of the song to listen through Youtube. New blog layout...

Yup, change again. I couldn't stand looking at the same layout for a longer period as sometimes that was one of the reason why I getting bored easily from doing any blogging or posting. I decided to change to a bit "modern" look if you take that as a consideration. Just to put away my "vintage" mode for a while, bukan lupa terus yer. Nak tukar template tak lama, cuma nak memilih mana yang sesuai ambik masa sikit.

For the new layout, the new header was from Shabby where I only added my blog title (using aodeb photoshop) and for the first time letak gambar sendiri kat header. Senang orang nak tahu blog ni sapa punya...hahahah! For the picture (gambar time TM Nite 2009), I changed it to gray mode by using adobe photoshop also. And, the rest memang dah ready made. For background, emmm...got from somewhere...hush...secret tak boleh bagitahu, hihihi. And, my post divider which was also from Shabby, but now I decided not to put any signature as previous as I already have my signature on the post content. I try my best to make it look much more simpler this time. Cuter, of course not to forget. Yet, flowers and pink mode are my signature as always!

p/s: Hari tu Enna masak for lunch, sedap betul ikan bakar and sotong masak belimbing buluh. Pastu dia try buat lemon chicken, not bad cuma tekak tak suka sangat makan benda manis ngan nasi. Anyway...teruskan usaha untuk generasi hebat!

Received a call from Enna after my master class on Sunday that she was on the way back to Melaka. Not with a bus, but in a car with Huda! Yeay! We went to the new Jusco which had been launched 5/2/2010 and we were pretty much alert that the traffic of course terribly bad to enter the mall during weekends. Ahh..redah sajalah. Luckily, we managed to find parking space just near the entrance on the foodcourt side. This was my second time as I'd been there on the launching day with Min and Tini, so nothing surprise for the second trip. Talking about the first trip, since Min and Tini tak jumpa "barang" berkenan di hati kat new Jusco, pergi pulak Jusco lama. Nasib baik ada "barang" yang berkenan di hati. And, what most important nasib baik Snowpea tak "meletup" malam tuh...huhuhu...

Back to the topic, as Huda was searching a dress for her HSBC garden party dinner...wow... so we tried to help her to find the dress. But nothing much could bee seen and up to our taste. Lastly, we just bought few food. And, Enna bought a Japanese pancake "Okonamiyaki" just another version of Tako, the round ball instead they twist the batter of Tako to pancakes. Nice, tapi tak boleh makan banyak, nak muntah. Maaflah bukan perut Jepun sangat. I also bought chicken siew pao from Bakers Cottage, memang sedap and masih panas. Next, we bought Goat Milk at a small counter booth with the flavour ones sebab yang ori pun rasa nak muntah. Hihihi...Apalagi yer...haa...Enna bought a pair of sweet sandals from Sembonia.

My opinion on new Jusco, hmmm...not much into it coz tak ada store yang betul-betul berjaya menambat hati. Biasa jer. And, I don't know why I'm not quite interested with the layout of the mall. Macam tak kena jer, tak tahulah. I guess, better shopping kat Jusco yang kecik cili padi tu.

Ok, then. Next trip, to Dataran Pahlawan since tak jumpa baju untuk Huda. Pusing-pusing semua tempat pun tak ada yang berkenan. So, we decided to go home. And our last stop was Tomyam Klasik, sebab hujan lebat yang teramat and to play save sebab semua dah penat, pergi dinner kat situ jer. Ahhh...penatnyer...

p/s: Weekend nih, balik sambut raya kat Austin. Hihihi...boleh tengok bunga api besar-besaran depan rumah. Or, pergi masuk Singapore lagi. Syok tuh...

Roti Telur Oregano...

Breakfastku seorang pada pagi ini (Enna puasa) ialah roti telur. Cuma tambah oregano, susu segar, serbuk lada hitam. Rasanya...mestilah besh! Enjoy!

Homemade pancakes with homemade strawberries jam!!!

Today, me and Enna had pancakes for our breakfast. Walaupun dalam keadaan terkejar-kejar nak basuh baju, lipat baju, gosok baju and mandi, sempat lagi aku menunaikan hajat to prepare the pancakes. And, the pancakes come with the homemade strawberries jam! How wonderful is that! So, ayuh kita tengok cara-cara nak buat pancakes and strawberries jam.

We bought very ripe strawberries at Jusco in Austin. Since dah 50% slash on the price, so we just bought them thought of blending them for a juice. Anyway, sebab dah terlampau ranum bila bawak ke Melaka, I switch them to jam and this is the first time belajar buat jam. Try to get few inspiration from recipes on internet and this is the recipe which come out of my mind. I made this the night before, refrigerate for our breakfast.

Strawberries Jam

Strawberries

Sugar (depends on the amount of your strawberries)

Pinch of salt

Lemon peel (parutan kulit lemon)

Lemon juice (depends tahap kemasaman yang korang nak)

Cardamom (buah pelaga...bubuh lah satu dua biji)...for more aroma

Method:

1. Mix all the ingredient and cook in a pot with a medium heat.

2. Tunggu sampai warna jadi gelap dan likat (this will take time, so selalu tengok tak nak jadi strawberry gula hangus pulak).

3. Siap untuk dimakan dengan roti.

The blue bowl (dry ingredient) and yellow bowl (wet ingredient)

Pancakes

1 mug of flour

1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon bikarbonat soda

pinch of salt

1 teaspoon of sugar

fresh milk (depends on the mixture)

1 egg

1 tablespoon of melt butter

As you can see from the pic above, I separate the dry ingredient (flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and bika) from wet ingredient (milk, egg and butter). Mix well both ingredients, then baru satukan dalam adunan tepung. Kita nak adunan not too runny and not too thick. So, pandai-pandailah main ngan susu, nak tambah banyak mana.

I just use non-stick pan, tak payah nak sapu butter sebab adunan dah ada butter. For pancakes, its normal to have those tiny holes, because that shows pancake you menjadi. Kalau tak ada holes tuh, hmmm...kena check balik, mungkin tak bubuh baking powder and bika. Hihihi...

p/s: Potluck on this Friday at CDP, kalau ada kerajinan mungkin masak kot. ;)

Scrappy - Purple in Fabulosity

I've kept this scrappy tools for so long (ketika kemalasan melanda tak ada mood nak scrapping). The unique of this scrappy kit from other kits that I have used before was that the tools were more or less liked you were playing on Polyvore. Pictures of original perfumes, shoes, dresses, jewelleries, watches which made this tool was one of a kind. And, I made the pic on grey mode (macam biaslah modelnya tak ada orang lain dah...) to contrast with the purple tone. So, far tengok nampak ok. Tapi kadang-kadang tengok nampak macam gelap pulak. Will test more grey pics on this similar kind of layout on the future. Just wait and see.

p/s: Last Sunday night went to Hospital Sultan Ismail at JB, visit Abah's college Sister Asmah went for operation from breast cancer. She is a widower with 3 children kalau tak silap tapi semua anak-anak dia dah besar. She was so cheerful and positive although in pain. Alhamdulillah to see on her condition. Hope Allah gives her with full strength and strong heart to continue the journey of her life.
